I just took my Tahoe in to have a minor repair done. They informed me that their was water in the oil and motor, Hub bearing was needed to be replaced, possible cracekd head and the water pump is leaking as well. We are about $4000.00 upside down right now. Should we trade it in and just take the loss or is it worth to try an repair these items?

Hi:
I strongly recommend that you get a second opinion. I'm sure the car is worth more than the repair, but I think you would have noticed some of these problems. Plus, the coolant in the engine is most likely an intake gasket, not a cracked head. The heads are a proven item that normally holds up more than 101K. However, they are known for intake gasket problems.

Let me know if you have any questions.
