About a month ago, my Tahoe air conditioner belt broke. I had it replaced and the replacement belt broke only a day or so later. The mechanic checked the drive pulley, idler pulley, and the compressor pulley and clutch. He couldn't find anything wrong. Another belt broke yesterday.

The belts break cleanly across the belt with no fraying or burning as if slipping. Any idea what is causing this? The air conditioning works normally, no unusual operation, no unusual noises. It just quits, and I find a broken belt in the bottom of the fan shroud.

Are there any Chevy service bulletins about this problem.
Thanks,

If you have the compressor that mount to the bottom of the engine, check the tensioner for damage.
