Electrical problem
1999 Chevy Tahoe V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I own a 1999 chevrolet tahoe and i just recently noticed that while sitting at a stop or while in park, that if i turn on the rear defrost my battery ampage drops. I was told by a few people it was more than likely a bad ground somewhere, others told me bad alternator, and some said that its the ENTIRE wiring system and that my wires needed replaced... can anyone help me i dont have the means to pay for extensive car repairs so im asking to see if i can get a straight answer

Have you used a meter to see exactly what voltage you still have at the battery when it is on? The rear defrost is purely electric, it will cause a draw on the system, that is normal. You need to be sure that the alt can keep up with it when you are sitting at idle, if so I wouldnt worry about it.
