1999 Chevy Tahoe V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have an oil leak near the oil filter. One mech said that there is some sort of plastic peice next to the oil filter that needs to be changed. Do you know what pat he is talking about? It can't be much because the price to repair it is $ 60.00.
