The brakes on this vehicle have always been mushy and have more travel than most cars/trucks. My wife used to drive this Tahoe and my youngest son has been driving it for the last year or so. As a result, my experience driving it has been limited. My oldest son happened to drive it and said the problem we've had is much worse and tinks the booster needs replacing. Now to the symptoms : The brakes have a;ways been mushy. Recently the brakes are even more mushy and require increased pressure and travel to get just average stopping performance. Should I replace the booster or replace the booster and the master cylinder? BTW, the pads and rotors are fine.

hi there,

if the brake pedal is very hard with extra effort to brake, you will be looking at he booster, but i would first do a brake fluid flush & re bleed and see who that helps.
