A shop told me it would be $1100 to fix my air conditioner. I'm not sure if he said compressor or condenser, so which ever one goes with the AC, that's what I to have replaced. How expensive is it to order a new one from a parts supply, and how hard is it to pull and replace?

Hi there,

At that price it would be the compressor, it will not be that hard to replace, but you will have to get the refrigerant removed first, you will have to have the system vacuumed down , the receiver dryer should be replaced as well, so it may be better if you get the workshop to do this, but it's up to you.

$1100 sounds like a price for both--the condensor and the compressor. What is wrong with the A/C system?
