I have a 1997 Tahoe that takes both feet ont he brakes to stop it. How do I trouble shoot whether it is the master cylinder, power booster, air in lines or what.
Will any special tools be needed to remove and replace either of these and are there any detailed instructions somewhere?

Hi there,

If you have a pedal that is hard and high and you need excessive pressure to stop, your booster may be faulty.
A quick test is to pump the pedal with the engine off to expel all vacuum, with you foot on the brake, start the engine and the pedal should sink a little. Try this first.
