Just bought 97 Tahoe a month ago and truck did not start one morning. Determined that there as no power to fuel pump and fuel gage was pegged at 3 o'clock.

Checked voltage to pump and had 12VDC. I replaced the fuel pump assembly and truck started but fuel gage still not working. Checked voltage to float and it appears to have about 9VDC.

Is this correct?

I checked float and watched ohm's change as float was moved from empty to full.

Basically, if the gauge is pegged and the rheostat is working (you checked float) either there is a problem with the bodly control module (BCM) or the gauge itself.

Have the BCM checked to see if that is where the problem is coming from. LEt me know what you find.

Can you tell me where the BCM is (under dash?) and what it looks like or the amount of wiring that connects to it. A wiring diagram would be great too.

Thanks for your help
