1996 Chevy Tahoe Weird thing that I cant explain

I have a this 96 Tahoe that runs great in every way except for when I back up out of a drive way or parking spot. While backing up it will stop when I turn the wheel, almost as if I pressed on the brakes. I will straighten the wheel and then it moves just fine. I cant explain it. The truck runs fine, it doesnt make any noise, the tires arent rubbing, nothing stands out to me as being wrong. My only wild guess is something is being disengaged as I turn the wheel. Please let me know what you think.
