I removed my intake manifold to repair a coolant leak. My question is, after all the trouble to get the manifold off, and with the mileage, should I replace the timing chain and gears while I am so close, or is this not needed. The water pump was replaced a couple of years back.
Thanks

It's a bit more work, but whats piece of mind worth? Bob you have a free wheeling engine so if it goes it shouldn't damage the valves! Depends on how fast your going as to what might happen to the timing cover...If you feel ambitious, go ahead and change em!
