I have an 2009 Suburban that the factory alarm goes off randomly like a panic for no reason and I can't seem to stop it. We will push down the locks by hand and not arm the system and still it goes off. Any idea why?

Content theft deterrent (CTD) is an integral part of the body control module (BCM). BCM diagnostic is only available from a GM dealership unfortunately but you can reset the system using this guide

Please run down this guide and report back.

We have replaced the resistor and tested the blower motor, it still does not blow heat. the heated seats work when they want, the radio changes on its own, it loses power completely once and a great while, already put in a new battery, and have to jiggle the negative battery cable to get the car to start, it as well is brand new, got stuck in the car wash because the anti theft system went off. Park assist goes off every now and then. One of the worst vehicles I've ever owned, I'm considering burning it to the ground.

Good afternoon,

The first thing I would do is replace the negative battery cable.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/everything-goes-dead-when-engine-is-cranked

that may be the cause of all your issues as low voltage causes all kinds of electrical issues.

My remote keyless entry will work for about 2 mins after I exit the vehicle or after I have turned the key in the door after I have returned to the vehicle. Nothing on the key fob will work unless I "activate" the trurck. After I do this, I can remote crank the truck, unlock the truck, lock the truck, or pop the back glass. I have changed the battery on the remote, reprogramed it and used a new remote but nothing works. I've been told it is probably the keyless module and that it probably needs to be replaced and reprogrammed which will be very expensive. But why does it work when the truck is "activated" or "engaged" (for lack of any other word) and then it wont after a few mins? Could it be a battery or power source problem to the keyless remote module. I have had my main battery replaced already b/c the factory battery was low and needed to be replaced. Any info you can give would be most helpful. Thank you in advance.

Supercede:

This bulletin is being revised to update the Part Information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 06-08-52-002F (Section 08 - Body & Accessories).

Condition

Some customers may comment about one or more of the following conditions:

^ The remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitters will not program, function and/or the RKE transmitter low battery message is displayed.

^ The Service Tire Monitor System message is displayed.

^ The new RKE transmitters cannot be programmed.

^ The remote keyless entry (RKE) and/or remote vehicle start (RVS) transmitter has poor range.

Cause

Any of these concerns may be caused by an internal fault with the transmitters and/or the RCDLR software/hardware.

Correction

Important: Check VIS to determine if Inventory Upgrade 07007 applies and has been completed. If the vehicle is listed in the Inventory Upgrade, and the upgrade has not been performed, complete the Inventory Upgrade before proceeding with this bulletin.

DO NOT REPLACE THE BCM OR RADIO ANTENNA MODULE.

Complete the following repair procedures:

Important: When programming a new or existing RCDLR, the programming instructions in SI must be followed.

^ On vehicles equipped with Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM), the tire type and tire pressures must be selected in the module set-up using the Tech 2(R). If this step is not performed, the RCDLR will not retain the tire pressures after the TPM system is learned.

Tip: When selecting the Tire Type/Pressure, choose the appropriate selection on the Tech 2 based on psi, not kPa.

^ Relearn the TPM sensors using the J 46079 and following the procedure found in SI.

^ After the learn procedure is complete, be sure to set the tire pressures according to the information on the tire placard.

Important: If the Inventory upgrade 07007 has been performed, skip the initial RCDLR programming step #1 and proceed to step # 2.

Reprogram the RCDLR with the latest software update available through TIS2WEB.

Important: New transmitters are identified by a star on the back of the transmitter. It is important to verify that the replacement transmitters have a star on the back.

1. Replace both Remote Keyless Entry transmitters.

2. Program the transmitters using the procedure listed in SI.

3. Perform the following steps in the exact order:

1. Remove the key from the ignition.

2. Open and close the driver's door.

3. Close all other doors/trunk/liftgates.

4. Wait 5 minutes.

5. Press the Unlock Button and verify that the doors all unlock.

^ If the customer's concerns are corrected, no further repairs are required.

^ If the customer's concerns are NOT corrected, proceed with step 5.

Important: In most cases, steps 1-3 will correct the customer's concern. In a few cases, it may be necessary to replace the RCDLR.

4. If the customer's concern is still present, replace the RCDLR.

5. Program the RCDLR with the latest software update available through TIS2WEB.

6. Reprogram both Remote Keyless Entry Transmitters. this is more of a software issue.start here first.

This question is several years old, but in case someone like me asks this question, here is what worked for me.

I had to replace my radio/CD player and ever since then, I have had this issue. I saw the following solution on another blog and it worked. Yeah

RCDLR and RKE Transmitters Will Not Function After the Serial Data Bus Has Gone to Sleep:
Open the door to wake up the serial data bus, then verify the RCDLR functions normally.
The correction at this time is to remove the fuse that powers the RCDLR and then reinstall the fuse.

Perform the passlock theft system relearn:

1. Verify that the battery is fully charged.

2. Use the scan tool to clear any DTCs.

3. Turn the ignition switch from the "off" position to the "crank" position, allowing the engine to start/stall.

4. Release the key, leave the ignition in the "on" position for a minimum of ten minutes. Do not go less than ten minutes or the relearn procedure will abort.

5. After the ten minute cycle, turn the ignition off for fifteen seconds to power the computers down.

6. Repeat Steps three to five two more times (three times total).

7. After the third cycle, It should start and run normally.

Hey OK,

You can try the thirty minute relearn procedure, if you have not already. Disconnect the battery on the negative side then touch the negative cable to the positive post, this will discharge the system capacitors and hard reboot the system.

Here is a guide that might help you:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-reset-a-security-system

Please let us know happens so it will help others.

Best, Ken

Thanks for visiting CarPros.

There are two ways to program them which I'll post below. I would start by disconnecting the battery for five minutes, reconnect then lock, unlock the door with key.

be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to four transmitters can be programmed.

Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the eyeless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

You may program up to four transmitters, using either of the two following procedures:

Transmitter Programming Procedure (Method 1 - No Tools Required)
1. Close all the vehicle doors.
2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
3. Press and hold the door unlock switch.
4. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
5. Release the door unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode.
6. Press and hold the "lock" button and the "unlock" button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of approximately fifteen seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
7. Repeat the previous step to program up to four transmitters.
8. Turn the ignition switch to the "run" position in order to exit the key-less entry transmitter mode.
9. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

Transmitter Programming Procedure (Method 2 - Scan Tool Required)
1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition "on", with the engine "off".
3. Use the scan tool in order to access the Body Control Module (BCM) Special Function: Program Key Fobs menu.
4. Follow the directions on the scan tool in order to program the transmitters.
5. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

My SUV's cargo door makes the alarm goes off unless I first unlock one of the two front doors. What's the problem and how do I fix it? I do not have a remote and never had one.

Hello,

The security system protocol can get mixed up causing the issue. I would get a FOB from AutoZone, Amazon etc. they come with programming instructions and cost about $20.00.

https://www.amazon.com/Keyless2Go-Replacement-Vehicles-KOBLEAR1XT-Self-programming/dp/B00Y1HSLHC/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=2001+CHEVROLET+SUBURBAN+remote&qid=1552863180&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

This should reset the alarm or you can try:
