2004 Chevy Suburban Strong gas smell after start when idlin

I just replaced the manifold gaskets to fix a problem with the original gaskets but now I get a very strong gas small after starting and going to an idle. The engine is running fine with no check engine light coming on. I am wondering if the computer that runs the fuel pump was overcompensating for the leaky manifold gaskets and now that shows up as the strong gas smell. Should I reset the computer to bring it back to original settings? If so is the a fuse to pull to reset the computer in charge of the fuel pump?

I don't know what all you took loose, during the repair. It sounds like you have a gas leak somewhere. Did you have the gas smell before the repair?

You might check the pressure regulator, does the vacuum line have gas in it?

Use a fuel pressure gage, check for correct pressure. With everything turned off, does the pressure hold?

I took everything off to clean up the gasket area. Everything went back on fine. There was no gas smell before the repair. I have not checked the pressure, but I will. It would seem to me there would be a check engine light error code if the pressure was not within spec. I thought of a gas leak but there are too many connections for it to leak.

I may just disconnect the battery to reset all the computers to see if the fuel pump control is off.
