Before xmas I started to notice a slight hesitation & lagging in the engine's performance. Within a week the check engine light came on & within an hour of the light coming on the hesitation and lagging became so severe it was almost completely undriveable and barely made it to the dealership to get fixed. The repairs done during that visit were as follows: all 8 spark plugs were replaced, took apart & cleaned out the fuel injectors & the fuel rails, replaced fuel pump, & both catalytic converters, & checked the oxygen & airflow sensors, but they did not need to be replaced. They kept & worked on my truck for a week, so I just got it back 2wks ago. Now when I got it back I still felt a slight hesitation, even though the check engine light was off. So today (Tues. Jan 28th) the check engine light came back on and also the oil pressure gauge is reading @ the furthest the needle will go past the farthest mark on the gauge on the high side. While my truck was turned on & running the needle was practically hanging straight down it was so far past the farthest high mark, but when I turned it off the needle moved onto the last marker of the designated area of the oil pressure gauge, otherwise I would have thought mayb the needle was broken. So my questions are what would cause the oil pressure gauge to show high & could it be related to the hesitation & lagging the engine is doing? Thank U for taking the time to answer my questions!!
