2000 Chevy Suburban RADIO

it sounds like the only thing left is, the speakers on the drivers side are no good, you failed to mention if you had a fader switch optional on your suburban.

[/quote=DALIA1974]well my husband has checked the speakers on the driver side by putting them on the passenger side and they seem to work, so we know it's not the speakers. And yes it does have a fader switch and when we switch it to the driver side you can't hear anything but the sub in the back.

okay there is only one thing left, but first of all let's eliminate the problems we've already solved:
1. Radios do malfunction and some of the channels go out like forward and backwards and right and left, but that's not the problem here because your husband replaced the radio.
2. You stated that your husband removed the speakers from the left side and installed them in the right side and vice versa and they worked, so obviously it's not the speakers.
3. so now we have narrowed it down to only two things:
a. The wiring going to the left side door, and;
b. The fader switch that you failed to mention.
Due to the fact that it is a 2000 it is unlikely that the wiring is malfunctioning, unless you are not telling me the hole story, like you've had some kind of work performed on the vehicle door console ext. So the only other problem it could be is the fader switch. so check out those two possibilities and let me know which one it was. And thanks for responding, I am tired of answering questions and nobody responses.

And thanks for responding, I am tired of answering questions and nobody responses.[/quoteDALIA1974]OK, MY HUSBAND HAS ALREADY CHECKED THE WIRING WITH A TEST LIGHT AND THERE IS CURRENT GOING THROUGH, SOME TIME BACK I HAD THE DRIVER DOOR WINDOW REPLACED DUE TO A BREAK IN, SO WE'RE NOT SURE IF WHEN THEY REPLACED THE WINDOW THEY MAY HAVE DROPPED IT ON THE SPEAKERS AND MADE CONTACT SOMEHOW. YOU THINK MAYBE IT'S THE BUILT IN MANUFACTURES AMP THAT MAY HAVE BURNED? THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

okay now were getting somewhere, you had the door replaced, when they did that, they could have damaged some of the wires going through the door into the truck, as your husband checked the wiring since the door was replaced? I did not know what had a factory amplifier, but you are right it may be the amplifier, have your husband bypass the amplifier and hook the speakers directly to the radio, or you could bring in to your vehicle a radio from inside the house that has an external speaker jacks and hooked them up to the driver's door wires and see if the speaker works that would be the easiest so you don't have to rewire the whole radio, and I am just like you, I'm glad you respond to me I am tired of responding to people and they do not answer me, thank you for responding, I am at your service
