I have a 1999 chevy suburban k1500 and recently found it very hard to shift from park to any other position, I removed the bottom piece of the dash board and saw where the shift connects to the stearing columum was cracked, trying to find the name of that piece

I'm in the same boat after some drift busting the linkage got frozen. I've got it thawed out now but I believe there is a part or two in the column that is broken. Have you gotten yours back together? If so, what did you have to replace?

Thanks,
Chris

Just curious. How much did you spend on the steering column at the junkyard?

Thanks for the reply,
Chris

I got it all apart and the pot metal molded bracket piece it pretty much destroyed. It's broken in about 4 places and cracked in a few more... I've found I can shift just using the rods however. I've got some connections I'm going to check to see if they can rebuild the crappy cast part... we'll see...

Thanks again for the replies!

I think I should invest in some toys so I don't need to use my transportation for fun...
