I am looking to buy a 1999 chevy suburban--after starting it, I was looking under the truck from the front and noticed a small gap in the transmission area--I could see something spinning inside--is this an issue? Is it possibly missing a cover or something?

The bell housing on these transmissions have 3 round holes in them for viewing the torque converter and the rear seal of the engine. There is usually a round metal cap that covers these holes. The thing turning is the torque converter. The hole plug should be in place, as to prevent anything from getting in - rocks, dirt, road debris etc, etc.
