1997 Chevy Suburban Suburban RUns Rough - Check Engine Light

I have a 1997 Chevy Suburban that I have been having some issues with. I was having trouble starting it so I Changed the plugs first, that helped a bit. A few weeks later I changed the Wires. After changing the wires, i started it up. It was still having a hard time starting. Then it developed a rough idle and low power output and the Check Engine Light came on.

I changed the Distributor and Rotor. That has helped with it starting but the rough idle/ride and lower power is still an issue. Please the check engine light is still on and occasionally blinks.

The light is the PCM telling you it has stored a code, most likely related to the rough running. Have the PCM scanned, Autozone will do it for free.From what you describe it sounds as though it has a bad injector bleeding down or the fuel pressure regulator is blown causing it to drain the fuel system into the intake. Get the code/codes and get back to us

Ok I took it to Autozone and the code came up P0307. The guy said it was a #7 Cylinder misfires. Ok so I pull #7 wire off both ends and reattached. It seems marginally better. I am going to drive it about 60 miles today so I will give an update.

Is it possible it is still the pressure regulator? if so, where is that located on my engine. I was going to change it before (through my other DIY research) but I could not locate it on my engine.

I truly appreciate your help so far!!!

OK I drove it about 18 miles and it really is only marginally better from stop after that it is still rough and low power when hitting the gas.

Under the black plastic upper plenum on the intake.I would suggest that you investigate the updated injector assembly for the CPI engines.If not all are replaced, you will likely chase them 1 at a time

Arrrggghhhhhhhh.....Ok I got a new wireset and replaced the #7 wire. Code is still a #7 Misfire.

What else could make the misfire???

If compression is good, a bad injector will cause a misfire.
