I hope you can help!
My Suburban is old but runs OK. It has a 6.5 L deasil engine and the temperature gause in the instrument panel goes all the way to hot after a short period of driving. I have changed the Thermostat, and both temperature sensors but to no avail. The engine is not overheating and but it is annoying. When the instrument temp gause gets close to the red zone, another indicator at the bottom of the instrument panel comes on and indicates "Check Guages".
Any Suggestions?

Try the Water pump too if you havent. You can hook up at flow meter but it will just be cheaper and give you piece of mind just to replace it. Also, I know this may seem harsh but 305,000 miles is well, alot. Now a diesel is still very much ok at 180,000 but 305 it will need some work. You might have fine crack in your head gasket, just enough to cause the coolant to boil but not cause engine trouble. Do you notice any consumption of oil or antifreeze yet?
