Hey, I don't know if I should be replacing the whole tranny or just a soleniod. Basically what happens is the Truck starts, goes into drive no problem and shifts from first into 2nd nice and smooth. It gets to about 35-40 mph in 2nd gear and then the rpms jump up to 3k - 4k if I keep my foot on the pedal and I get no more forward thrust or power. I drained the fluid and it was black and smelled pretty bad but not sure if its burnt up. Not like what it smells like fresh from the bottle. I replaced soleniods A and B but nothing changed. I never heard any grinding or knocking when it first happened. After reading about a million pages and watching hundreds of videos, I am just plan confused as to what the problem could be. Could you help me understand what the best options are?
