Steering problem
1990 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
My ignition switch was turned to auxillary. It stuck there, although you could still turn the key. It was doing nothing. It would unlock steering wheel, but not the gears, and would not start the truck. The key would turn to the start position, but it was not actually moving the internal parts. We dropped steering wheel, and was able to get the gears to unlock. When then jump started the rig by the starter. In the mean while the key got broke off in the ignition. We replaced the ignition key entry, but the truck will still not start. The key will turn to the start positon but not starting the vehicle. Please help. What else might be the problem. It was working great until it got turned to auxillary. When I bought this rig the formal owner said do not turn the key to auxillary, but my husband accidentally did. I am trying to locate a diagram of the internal parts of the steering column. It appears that there are serveral broken parts. All help is appreciated. Thank you.
