1984 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic ? miles

Concerning 2 piece rear oil seal from Fel-Pro;Their instructions say to install the seal ends on a 3/8" offset to horizontal.I have never done it this way.What do you advise?

you cn do it that way . it is done that way so the seal doesn't line up with the slit line of the main cap to prevent leaks. Or if you line it up with the cap then put a dab of silicone sealer, not big and put cap on.
