Although there may be transmission leaks during normal use, my 2000 Silverado has major transmission leaks when towing. The fluid winds up on the exhaust system and smokes profusely. The check engine light comes on often. The fluid appears to be coming from the area around the radiator. Why does it leak more fluid under stress? Should a separate cooler be installed? Engine size is 4.8L V8.
