2005 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

2005 Silverado 1/2 ton, 57,000, between 45-60 mph in 2wd get a constant shutter, feels like front end, if I switch to 4wd it goes away 95%. Just did new tires, alignment and inspected rear drive shafts u joints. Is something not disengaging? bad cv 's(boots not damaged)? what's best way to diagnose?

When you say the shudder feels like it is in the front end, that would make it in the steering wheel. Does the steering shake when you are feeling this?

Here is a guide that will help with this if so:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/steering-wheel-shakes-when-accelerating-or-braking

The most common cause of a vibration that is between these speeds is a tire vibration but if they are new and it is still there then we need to check the run out on the hubs and rotors.

I am attaching the info below on the spec and the adjustment procedure if you find rotor runout. However, if the hub is the issue, then it will need to be replaced.

Please see the info below and let us know what questions you have on this.

Thanks
