my head lights are stuck on all of the time. i was charging the battery and also soldering some wires under the fuse box under the hood. when i tuched the soldering iron to one of the wires (i think one of the ones from the fog light relay) it sparked. immediately the lights came on. (I think that the current from the charger found a path through the soldering iron to ground) i tried to turn them off with the controls in the cab and but that did not help. even with the light control in the off position and the key removed the lights stay on. the only way to turn them off is to remove the fuse or relay.
did i blow the BCM?

What you may have done was shorted out a really, if your brights come on and off is the same really, change of those relays around and see if your lights shut off, there are also four fuses to the brights and two for the dims, the BCM runs a lot of other options if they are still working I do not think you damaged it 1. Fog lamps, 2. Interior lights, 3. Brake light warning indicator, 4. Turn signals switch, if those accessories are still operating I do not think there is any damage, the headlight relays are located underhood fuse block left side of engine compartment.

i checked the relays and swaped them out. still no luck. i was able to pull off the gray connecter on the BCM and i could hear the relays click and the lights would go out. today i went to a dismantaler and tryed one of theirs. the lights worked great and everything seemed fine execpt that there was now an airbag light on and the radio was locked out. i put the original one back in as i did not want the airbag light problem. is the dealer the only ones that can clear the airbag codes and unlock the radio? from my test it sure looks like the BCM is the problem

thanks Jason

any local parts store can clear the codes for the airbag, you will have to remove the radio and there is a number on it that the dealer can decipher to give you the code to unlock it but I would check with the dealer first to see if he can do it from the VIN number before removing the radio
