2003 Chevy Silverado windsheild wiper motor module

I have ordered a wiper module due to wipers will not turn off. My question is, is there a clip on the wiper bar that releases the wiper from the threaded shaft after the nut has been removed? I have removed the securing nut, but cannot remove the bar to get access to the wiper motor enclosure.
