the other day the truck started but then died. tried again to crank but there was absolutely nothing. i jumped it & it started immediately and ran but it seemed like it wanted to die out when i stopped at lights, etc so i had to keep giving it gas. next morning it was dead again so i left it alone. the next day in the afternoon i started it without a jump and it idled ok but i noticed that my temp gauge did not move, it was at zero. i thought at first this was an alternator problem but am now thinking it is the water pump. haven't noticed water leaking or anything like that but will check that out. does the water pump probably need to be replaced?
