2002 Chevy Silverado pinging @ 4,000 rpm's

While driving @ 55 mph going to accelerate truck will down shift to drive and then to the next gear raising rpms to 4K and higher at this point the truck will ping heaviely and check engine light will come on. The light will go off about 20 seconds after letting off the gas. Ideas on how to stop this? Running 92-93 octane fuel already. Other than that the truck runs fine. You need to have the computer scanned for codes something in the engine management system is causing the light to come On-this is where you start the diagnosis

Pinging/Detonating-can be caused by an EGR valve or the knock sensor not retarding the ignition timing when it senses pinging/detonation or an engine that's overheating
