When I turn on my A/C during hot days, which is usually in high 80's and above degree days, I get a "clicking" noise. I have isolated the noise to A/C unit, for it only makes this noise when I turn on the A/C. This noise is very similar to a noise that we as kids used to produce by attaching a playing card or a thin piece of plastic to the bicycle frame to rub against the bicycle wheel spokes, creating a constant clicking sound. The noise last anywhere from 3 to 7 seconds and I have learned to mitigate the noise by controlling the throttle, either accel or decel. Again, it only makes this noise when the A/C is turned on during very hot days, while it does not usually occur during cooler days when I turn the AC on.

Any expertise advice is much appreciated.

It sounds like a bearing may be going bad in the compressor. Is the belt in good condition?

Thank you very much for your reply...

The belts are in good condition with proper tension. As I have mentioned before, this sound only occurs during hot days when I turn-on the A/C. I have also isolated the noise to the right front corner of the vehicle, where the compressor and AC unit is located.

Chances are it is the compressor.
