My husband takes very good care of his truck. The maintenance is done an a regular basis, but we have replaced the fuel pump in our truck four times now in the last year and a half. They keep burning out. We have changed the fuel filter and flushed all of the fluids in the engine. We have replaced all of the lifters and a gasket that had gone bad (not that that has anything to do with the fuel pump). I'm wondering if there is a short somewhere that the mechanic can't see?

there is a good possibility there is a short. did they ever back probe the connector for the fuel pump when it wasnt starting to see if there was voltage there.
