The part welded to my rear axle (i'll call mount) that attaches the lower end of my shock absorber is twisted. It needs to be ground off and replaced unless I can whack it back into shape. It probably happened when I was stuck half tipped over in a ditch with that area contacting the edge of the pavement or when I ran over a boulder plowing. . Nonetheless, the shock doesn't line up like that, it has broken off there and is hanging from the upper one. Is there somewhere on the internet I can find and purchase a new one or set ? All I've seen is similar mounts that are lowering or raising kits but nothing for original replacement.

If it is available, it will be a dealer part. As far as the one on the vehicle, if you heat it, do you think you could straighten it?

Let him have a go at it. Chances are if he has the torches to heat it, he should be able to get it back into position.
