2001 Chevy Silverado "Creeking/Rubber,"Noise from

This just started happening last night. I was going through a drive thru and I was hearing a creeking/rubber noise coming from the left front wheel while just idleing through the parking lot. When I get going I believe it goes away. It does not make the noise when I apply the brakes, but only when i am going at slow speeds. It makes the noise as the wheel rotates.

chrome rim but plastic lug nut covers

Try to have someone walk along side the truck while you are moving. You might have a chrome overlay on the wheel that is loose.

I have suspected the hub assembly having to be replaced because of the left front wheel bearing but would it make that sound at a very low speed?

Yes, you can get noise from the hub at low speeds. You can drive at about 40-50mph and steer side to side and see if you get a noise. The hubs usually make noise to one side and not the other.

the cause of the creak sound was the left front brake.. it is staying applied although the pedal is not being applied.. i took the brake caliper off and the brakes, pushed back the pistons and two weeks later its doing it again.. what would cause it to stay compressed?

You could have a bad caliper or brake hose.
You can test for this with the help of an assistant.
Have someone pump the brake pedal several times, then let off. After they let off, wait 2 seconds then open the brake bleeder on the suspect caliper. If brake fluid trickles out, the caliper is at fault, or you have caliper slides that are binding. If fluid shoots out, the brake hose is the problem.
