the vent direction knob on the dash panel is not working, will not change to vent and is stuck in the defrost mode. how to get to the area to fix the knob and what might be the problem? thanks db

Hi:
Usually there is a trim piece around the pannel that is cliped once removed, you gain access to the hardware. As far as the problem, the vents are run by vacuum. Before tearing into the switch, check under the dash for broken or disconnected vacuum lines.
