In December 2007 I had a tapping noise when my truck started and continued until it warmed up after a while. The oil pressure began to change a great deal. I took it to the dealership and payed $1200 to get it fixed. They told me antifreeze had leaked into the intake manifold, gotten into the oil and messed up the lifters, so the lifters were replaced. Now 3 months later, I hear the tapping noise again, but this time it is when the rpms change. The oil pressure has begun to change again. I took it into the dealership again, where they said they didnt know for sure until they tore more of the engine apart, but maybe gunk from the 1st problem had built up in the valves. They said it would probably cost around $2000 to fix. I am very unhappy with this dealership that they did not completely fix the problem in the first place, and now I do not trust them. Is what they are telling me the truth? If so, should it be costing this much to fix?
