I have replaced the tank after a leak started near the seam. after about a month the new tank started leaking. I took it to a mechanic and he said the tank was crushed and asumed it had to much vaccum, but wasn't exactley sure what to do to fix the poblem.

Hi Stuart Hutchison, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

There's two things that will cause the fuel tank to collasped/deformed/crushed is a wrong gas cap and the vacuum relief valve

Scan for codes, if the vent valve is stuck a code should be set. Also check the fuses under the hood, there are fuses for EVAP purge and vent solenoids. Testing these requires a GM Tech II scan tool to activate the solenoids to test them..
