My 1999 Chevy truck has approx 202,000 miles. Still runs great no problems with running gear what so ever. Going on a short trip a few weeks ago some steam started coming out from under hood. The heater hose was spraying water from where it connects to the heater core at the fire wall. I disconnected both heater hoses and bypassed the heater core. I thought the pipe coming through the fire wall from the heater core it self had broke but in fact there is some type of plastic quick connect that connects the rubber heater hose to the metal pipe from the heater core. I know these connectors have special tools for removal. My question is, is there any way to remove this plastic connector with out having these special tools?
