I have a 99 chevy silverado and lately I've been having problems w/ the door on the passenger side (3-door model, so front door..).
One issue is the window taking forever to roll up, which I suspect is a worn regulator system that I figure I'll have to replace.
The main issue is the door lock. I'm not sure exactly what happened but the tumbler (where the key goes in on the outside) has fallen into the door. I tool the door apart and attempted to mount the tumbler back into place but it won't stay, it just pops back in when you insert the key. This isn't so much a problem as the locks are electronically controlled but when the tumbler falls in it's causing the rods to malfunction failing to unlock the door.
My question is what to do? Does the entire mechanism need to be replaced? Is there something I can do to mount the tumbler in permanently? Please help, thank you.
