1999 Chevy Silverado Auto headlights won't turn off

My 1999 Silverado has the auto headlights. The lights will not turn off with the vehicle running. If you depress the parking brake and start the truck they will remain off until its released. Not sure if its a relay or where it might be located.[/quote:47abe53150]

i was informed that by slightly sepressing your park brake ids the only way to take care of this issue, my 96 and 98 both do the same and i press the park brake down slighty and they remain off

Sorry to inform you but to my knowledge there is no way to turn off the headlights without turning off the ignition. This is an issue only on the 99's because evidently after that GM realized people wanted to turn them off. I have a 99 and an 02 and the 02 is the only one of mine the lights can be turned off on.
