I have ben getting code po404. I have erased it many times. I thought it was because I have a bad fuel sending unit. I am now getting code po405 egr valve position sensor A- low circuit. I have put in a new egr valve 1000 miles ago. I pulled out the egr and tried to clean it when I was getting code po404. Any thoughts?

the fuel level sensor is bad. you need to replace it for that code to go away. is the p0405 code still on at this time?

I cleared to po405 code and it came right back on after the truck went through a drive cycle. there is also a po405 code pending. I believe the sending unit is part of the fuel pump assembly and both have to be replaced as just the sending unit cannot be replaced on the 1999 silverados.

yes it is, I turned it off and it came back on after one drive cycle. A second po405 is pending. I believe the fuel pump and sending unit are one unit on teh 1999 silverado.

call your local parts store, they would be able to tell you for sure if it is seperate of not

the fuel pump&sending unit are one piece, I replaced the pump/sender, fuel filter, plugs.wires, new end on the fuel pump connector, fuel pump relay, another egr valve. Finally I took it to a local shop and they decided that it was the guage cluster was bad. It has fixed the vibration in the guage. Ps. the truck starts much better also now.
