1997 Chevy Silverado windshield wipers will turn on but not

It's likely that the trouble is in your wiper motor box under the hood on the fire wall. There was a recall on them from 93-96 or 97. They were getting wet inside and causing fires in some cases. Look to see if the cover on the box (about 5 or 6 inches square) has a red ink type stamp on it. If it does the dealership that sold it likely did the recall replacement. If not you may have finally gotten water in it. There are sealed replacements available that are fairly simple to install but it would pay to have it tested or test the circuit if you have that skill set. Hope this helps.
