1997 Chevy Silverado Clicking from engine

I started my truck the other day and there was an unfamilar clicking sound coming from the engine. The clicking increased when i accelerated. After driving for a few minutes the clicking slowly went away. Any help would be great. Thanks

If it is a ticking sound, it sounds like a lifter that collapsed and had to rebuild pressure to stop. Is the oil full and clean? Is that the correct mileage on the vehicle (a 1997 with 28K)?
