1996 Chevy Silverado Brake pushrod

I'm in the middle of changing out the brake booster, I'm trying to find out the easiest way to disconnect the pushrod. What type of retaining clip is it? I reach up and feel a small square box would that be the brake light switch?

Stick a small screwdriver inside that clip and lift up the top part to unlock it and slide it to the side while holding it spread open.
