Electrical problem
1992 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual
I had been having Battery problems, I thought, so I bought a brand new 3 year warranty Die Hard battery. Over night the car would not start. I recharged the battery, and it started once. The next day no start. I felt that something was draining the battery so I disconnected the positive cable and placed an ammeter inbetween the Positive terminal and the disconnected cable. The ammeter ( 5 amps full scale) indicated a 5 amp + discharge with nothing on. I took the starter off, replaced the solenoid, and prior to reinstalling the starter, I checked the continuity to ground of the disconnected cable. It shows to be grounded. There is the large cable parralleled with the smaller cable. I suspect the smaller cable. Can you advise me where this small cable goes and why it should be grounded?
