Last week my truck suddenly stopped running leaving my wife stranded. after the tow home, I found the 10 amp fuse blown for the fuel inj. a&b.
Tried to replace it and it popped as soon as i turned the ignition on. Next step was to unplug the Fuel pump harness at the fuel pump. Replace the fuse, same result. Now i was thinking of a wire shorting out. Upon further investigation, I removed air cleaner and found the wiring on the throttle body feeding the two injectors was chaffed bare and pinched under the air cleaner. So i cut, soldered and heat shrinked the wires. Next I plugged in the fuel pump harness and replaced the fuse. Finally I thought I had it fixed. Turned the key, and it started, barely. will now start and run, very rough idle and no power at all in gear.
HELP!!!!!

Are both TBI injectors spraying fuel? That could have shorted an injector driver int eh computer or th einjector itself. Test across them to see if they have the same resistance with a meter. If ok, need a test light across the connector to be sure they are both getting pulse from the computer, will be dim at idle and brighten up with throttle

Actually I just determined that only the side of the injectors that did not short is spraying fuel. The other side, the repaired wires is not spraying fuel but is getting voltage, I even swapped the wires from side to side and with both only the non shorted side is spraying. Is the injector something that is repairable?
what is underneath if I take it apart tocheck it out

the injector is triggered with ground. See if it is being grounded at the connector by the ecm.If not, the ecm may need to be replaced, if grounding, the injector is probably shorted and needs to be replaced

not too difficult. The injector should come with the necesary o'rings to replace it.All you need is some Torx drivers to get the top off the unit to get the injector out
