1990 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual

i just put a different engine im my truck 5.7ltr and my gound strap running from the firewall to the block is getting verry hot any ideas?

Make sure its CLEAN, like brilliant, sand it if you need to. It gets hot due to high resistance, replace it if this doesnt help.
