Electrical problem
1986 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
I recently picked up a 1986 chevy silverado 4x4 with a plow. The truck has been sitting for about 6 months. When it was park it was running real good. I went to start it and got nothing. I allowed the batteries to charge with jumper cables and when i tried to start it I fried the pink and red wires from the ignition switch to the fuse box. Could the ignition switch be shorted or is it something more serious? There is no sign of mice damage anywhere.
The engine did start but only after a long time on jumper cables.
