How many hours should it take to replace this seal? It is a two peace seal.

book gives about 2 labor hours but you know how that goes, something always seems to go wrong and makes it take longer.

I know I'm doing this at home with my wife and 3 kids the phone and other problems.I quoted this guy 4hrs at $50.00 an hr is this to much?

is it just a side job thing or you at a repair shop? most shops charge average of around $80 an hour, so that would be 80 x 2 hours = 160. if your just a backyard mechanic doing side jobs may want to charge a bit less, just my opinion. $50 an hour isnt bad at all so hey if it takes 4 hours then no problem. if you do it in 2 hours and quote 4 then it would probably be unfair then. kinda an iffy situation i guess.
