WHISTLE NOISE WHEN CLUTCH IS ENGAGED

1991 Chevy S10 5 speed 2wd pickup 2.8L V6 153,000 miles:
I have two questions:
I just bought this vehicle. There is a constant whistle noise when clutch is engaged. Does this mean the throw out bearing is failing, or do I just need a new slave valve?

Also, the clutch does engage at a very high point, almost completly when pedal is out. Can this be adjusted to engage at a mid level point?

the whistling souns probably is the throwout bearing, when they get dry they do whisstle at times
with reference to the clutch release position, the clutch slave sylinder are not adjustable. they adjust themselves similar to diasc brakes. have the truck clutch disc looked at to find out how worn it is.
