Engine Code 32

1994 S-10 Blazer.

I Got the 32 code which means, EGR valve circuit.

Assuming I have to replace the valve, what is next on the list if I am still having the problem?

Are there other things to consider outside the valve such as sensors?

This morning the "Service Engine Soon" light is gone.

Car is acting up. I don't have much brake power. It's is an intermittant problem.

while engine running(badly) I disconnected the big vacuum line to the booster, engine performance improved. I clogged it with my thumb, the engine shut off. I restarted it and put the hose back on the booster, it wanted to nearly stall again.

any ideas?
