2003 Chevy S-10 wheel turns while braking

The truck runs great. However, when slowing down to a stop or jamming on the brakes the steering wheel turns to the right. I thought it was the calipers, changed them, nope. I thought it was the tires, rotated them, nope. Thought it was the brake pads, changed them, nope. i got an alignment also, but that still didn't work. What else could it be? Could it be a traction control thing?

Ya my steering components all check out. I adjusted the rear brakes yesterday, but the problem is still there.

anything else?

P.S. What is best you know how, to check if both rear brakes are properly adjusted besides actually taking the drum off each wheel and spinning the star yourself?

Hi:
The way I was taught to adjust brakes was to simply adjust the shoes until there is a drag when spinning the tire. After you make the first adjustment and there is equal drag on both wheels, with the wheels still on the car, hit the brakes a few times to center the shoes. Then, recheck your adjustment and readjust if necessary.

If you are still getting a pull and you replaced the calipers, are there any problems with the steel brake lines being bent or crimped? Try this, raise the front of the car and spin the wheels one at a time. Have a helper apply the brakes. Are both locking up? Also, do they release when the pedal is released? I want you to try this to help eliminate the rubber brake hoses.

I did what you said with the rear brakes. It doesn't turn anymore thanks alot, for the advise.
