just so happen i was at auto zone the other day, and a guy accidently bought trans fluid and put it in his engine. the guy at the store ,whom i know has worked there for a while and always gives good advice, told me that he used to use tranny fluid to clean his internal engine parts on his engines but he legally couldnt tell him that. so i told him on the way out to drain it ( to be safe) and it would be fine.

I was referring to any gaskets that may come in contact with engine oil possibly absorbing trans fluid and swelling since it is a thinner liquid.
We flushed out the engine with an engine flush and changed the oil filter and refilled with fresh oil. There seems to be no apparent damage at this time. Thanks for your replies.

some people do put a little in the oil if they have leaks. With you changing it and you don't see any leaks you should be all right. You did not say how long and how many miles was driven before you found out. but with no appatent leaks you should be ok. let us know if anything should come up
